Automotive FAQ
Questions, answered.
Which materials do you use for automotive components?
Stainless steel, brass and aluminium as standard, plus copper where the part carries current. Coatings include zinc, nickel and Teflon depending on the corrosion and friction requirement.
Can you supply PPAP documentation?
Yes. Jay Ashapura Precision Metals holds IATF 16949 for machined metal components, so automotive parts run under an automotive quality system with PPAP available on request.
Do you supply brass automotive parts to IATF 16949 standards?
Yes. Our partner factories operate to IATF 16949, and we can provide PPAP, control plans and dimensional reports for automotive OEM and Tier-1 programs.
What brass automotive parts do you make?
Sensor housings and components, fuel-system and injector parts, brake bleeder screws and pipe fittings, electrical connectors and terminals, radiator drain cocks, grease (Zerk) nipples and EV connector pins.
Can you support EV and hybrid vehicle programs?
Yes. We manufacture high-conductivity brass charging pins, contacts and connector components for EV and hybrid systems, plated for low contact resistance.
Do you provide PPAP documentation?
Yes. PPAP, FAIR, material test certificates and dimensional reports are available for automotive parts on request.
Can you reverse-engineer an obsolete automotive brass part?
Yes. Send a sample or drawing and we'll reproduce the part to match dimensions, thread and finish in the correct brass grade.
