Questions, answered.
Do you tap and thread stamped parts?
Yes. Threads are cut to ISO Metric, UNC, UNF, BA, BSW or to your drawing, so a stamped bracket can arrive tapped and ready to assemble rather than as a bare blank.
What finishes are available on stampings?
Zinc, tin, nickel and chrome plating, powder coating and passivation, plus the natural and decorative finishes used on brass and copper parts.
Do you need tooling for stamped parts?
Yes. Stamping requires a die, quoted separately from the piece price. For low volumes or prototypes we can produce parts on single-stage tooling instead, which avoids the die cost at a higher piece price.
What material thicknesses can you stamp?
Typically 0.2 mm to 6 mm depending on the material and the forming involved. Send the drawing and we will confirm what is practical for that geometry.
Which materials do you stamp?
Cold-rolled and stainless steel for structural and enclosure parts, and brass and copper strip for contacts, terminals and current-carrying components.
Can you do secondary operations on stampings?
Yes. Tapping, machining, welding, riveting and assembly are all handled, so the part arrives finished rather than as a bare stamping.
Do you plate stamped components?
Yes. Zinc, tin and nickel plating, powder coating and passivation are available, with plating thickness and salt spray reported where the specification calls for it.
